Lightly raced filly Adventure Seeker kept her momentum rolling with a strong victory in Sunday's Country Boosted Benchmark 58 over 1200m. The daughter of The Autumn Sun handled the jump in class, backing up her last-start maiden win at Goulburn with another tough performance.
Trainer Danielle Seib opted to freshen the filly up after her breakthrough victory, targeting this second-up assignment with precision. The move paid dividends.
Breaking smartly from barrier 5 under Pierre Boudvillain, Adventure Seeker slotted into a perfect stalking position behind the leader. When the field straightened, she showed a touch of inexperience but found another gear when it mattered, out-finishing Gobbo’s Mate—a five-time winner—by 0.37 lengths.
“It’s never easy stepping straight into benchmark company from maiden grade, so I think today’s effort had plenty of merit,” said Seib.
From just five career starts, Adventure Seeker has now banked $47,975 in prizemoney, including $11,250 in BOBS Bonuses. A private purchase from Zhongli Thoroughbreds in June last year, she races in the silks of Champion Thoroughbreds alongside a strong ownership group, including A J Day, J D Kennedy, Dr. J R Hooper, Ms. V L Sheils, GSM Racing, P M Cohen, R Edwards, S P Munroe, A Stoevelaar, the We Bought A Hoof syndicate, and C Divis.
With two on the board and room to grow, Adventure Seeker looks like a filly with plenty more to give.
