**PDS NOW AVAILABLE**The northern hemisphere yearling sales have been a happy hunting ground for Champion Thoroughbreds over the last 3 years, with some high quality yearlings purchased for excellent value. In 2023 at the Tattersalls October yearling sale, the team, through agent Cathy Grassick were able to secure Lot 867, a lovely Almanzor colt, out of Oasis Dream mare Angel Vision (IRE) for 75,000GBP. This colt is a half-brother to Gr2 Coventry Stakes Royal Ascot winner Berkshire Shadow (GB) who has recently been imported to Australia to race for the Maher/Eustace training partnership. Almanzor (by Wootton Bassett) who was crowned Champion New Zealand Two-Year-Old Sire and Champion New Zealand First Season Sire in 2021/22 produced Gr.1 Victoria Derby winner Manzoice, Gr.3 Championship Stakes winner Cheval D'Or and Karaka Million 2YO winner Dynastic in his first New Zealand crop. On the track, Almanzor won 3 Group 1's beyond 2000m and accomplished the title of Champion 3YO Colt in Europe, Ireland & France in 2016.This colt is a lovely physical with a great walk. He comes from a strong female line, out of a mare who has already produced a stakes performer from just two runners. We purchased this lovely Magna Grecia filly from the 2023 Goffs Orby sale in Ireland. She's out of 3 time winner Atlantic Isle- dam of Gr2 Herbert Power Stakes and Gr2 Zipping Classic winner Military Mission, who also placed an excellent 4th from a wide draw in the Group 1 Metropolitan at Randwick in the spring. He currently holds a nomination for the Gr1 Tancred Stakes and Sydney Cup during the Autumn, giving this filly plenty of opportunity for further pedigree updates. This neat filly has a lovely action, good body and was purchased for a very reasonable €30,000. This filly is the second foal out of our former race mare Regine (Mastercraftsman)- who was a 4 time winner including over a mile at Randwick. Regine is a half-sister to Group 1 Royal Ascot Gold Cup winner Trip To Paris, a brilliant European stayer who made his way to Australia in 2015, where he was runner-up in the Caulfield Cup and 4th in the Melbourne Cup. This filly is very much in the mould of her dam Regine, and is one of the best Contributor's we have seen at the sales in recent years.
