Crown Caps Carnival Double
May 6, 2026Wear The Crown completed a winning double for the Champion silks at the Wagga Carnival, producing a determined performance to land Thursday's Class 3 1000m and follow up Spread The Love's Day 1 success. The impeccably bred daughter of I Am Invincible continued her rapid rise, making it three wins from just four starts and underlining her status as a filly of real promise. With Alysha Collett aboard, she jumped cleanly from the inside alley and settled in the box seat in the 10-horse field. The genuine early tempo over the sharp five furlongs didn’t entirely play to her strengths and she was asked for an effort approaching the home bend, but her class came to the fore when it mattered. Digging deep, she lengthened smartly to score by a narrow margin over the closing Cambar. Collett was full of praise post-race.“She’s come back a much stronger filly this time in,” she said. “She’s definitely heading the right way.” Trainer Danielle Seib now looks toward the Listed Denise’s Joy Stakes (1100m) at Scone in search for some very valuable black-type. A $260,000 purchase from the 2024 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale, Wear The Crown is already shaping as an attractive future broodmare. She is out of the multiple stakes-winning Snitzel mare Macroura, a three-quarter sister to Group 1 winner Sunshine In Paris, further enhancing an already deep page.
No Love Lost At Wagga Carnival
Apr 30, 2026Spread The Love turned the tables in style at Day 1 of the Wagga Carnival on Thursday, rebounding from a below-par effort in the Guineas Prelude to claim the 1400m Class 2 and register his third win from just seven starts. The striking three-year-old son of Contributer made full use of his customary early speed, finding the front from barrier seven before dictating terms throughout. Kicking strongly on straightening, he proved typically tenacious late, fending off all challengers to score by a narrow 0.22 lengths. Trainer Danielle Seib was quick to praise the gelding’s attitude post-race. “He’s such a tough, honest horse,” she said. “Very tradesman-like with a straightforward racing pattern, so it was pleasing to see him bounce back for the owners after that last run.” Following his eighth placing in the Wagga Guineas Prelude on April 19, Spread The Love was found to be carrying some bruising in a front foot. The issue was carefully managed between runs, with Seib and her team confident in his condition after reapplying race plates leading into Thursday’s assignment. A $30,000NZD purchase from the 2024 New Zealand Ready to Run Sale, the progressive gelding has already returned more than double that investment, boosting his earnings to $65,800 from just seven appearances. Regeneration Explodes Late to Snare Redelva
Apr 12, 2026The Listed SAJC Redelva Stakes (1100m) at Morphettville Racecourse on Saturday brought together a strong field of up-and-coming three-year-old sprinters, and it was the progressive King's Legacy gelding Regeneration who came out on top. Trained by Anthony Freedman and Sam Freedman, Regeneration had been ultra-consistent heading in, placing in all five of his previous starts, including a solid third in the Blue Sapphire Stakes last spring. He kicked off this prep with a sharp win at Caulfield Racecourse and arrived in Adelaide fit and ready to go, with Todd Pannell in the saddle. Despite being easy in the market, Regeneration proved the punters wrong—finishing strongly to grab a narrow win over the more seasoned Group-winning colt Tycoon Star. A $220,000 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale purchase for Anthony Freedman Racing and Byron Rogers from the Bhima Thoroughbreds draft, he’s now built a tidy record of three wins and three placings from just six starts, with prizemoney pushing past $165,000.
