Winning Rupert Filly Joins 2020 Crop Of Champion Yearlings

The first day of the Magic Millions Yearling Sale proved a happy hunting ground for the team with the purchase of a lovely Winning Rupert filly out of stakes winning American mare Bibby. The speedy looking conveyance was purchased from the Newgate Farm draft for $80,000- an incredibly reasonable price given the Day 1 sale average of $239,236.

First season sire Winning Rupert appealed greatly on the first day of selling with 5 yearlings going through the ring and all selling for an average price of $152,000 to the likes of Bjorn Baker, Star Thoroughbreds, Toby Edmonds & John Sadler. Winning Rupert's brilliant career was cut short as a 3 year old due to injury, prior he had 6 career starts for 5 wins including 3 at listed and Group level over 1000m-1200m. The bold front runner by Written Tycoon would regularly blitz his rivals by a 3L+ margin.

His speedy physique has been passed on to our Winning Rupert filly who is the first foal out of American Listed sprint winner Bibby (by Stormy Atlantic). Bibby is out of multiple stakes winner Love Cove. Last season, Bibby had a filly by Newgate sire Capitalist. BOBS eligiable, this filly also carries the Newgate First Season sire bonus worth 250k- Newgate Farm will pay a $250,000 bonus to the recorded buyer as listed in the official Magic Millions results for ALL of their yearling sales for any two year-old by Winning Rupert that can win the 2021 Magic Millions 2YO Classic.

This filly is also the second addition to the 2020 1in5 club, joining our first purchase- the Animal Kingdom x Ammirata yearling filly.
