Two 3yo Fillies Kick Off Campaigns This Week

Three year old fillies Private Thoughts (Snitzel) and Bonita Bella (So You Think) get their racing preparations underway this week at the Kensington and Hawkesbury circuits for the stable.

On Wednesday, Private Thoughts returns to racing after a spell and 2 trials where she competes in a Benchmark 70 over 1100m on the Kensington from barrier 1 with Glen Boss in the saddle. Private Thoughts has 2 wins under her belt from 6 career starts and is a flying machine of a filly. She gets to start this prep at 1100m which should hopefully see her being able to be on speed and potentially dictating terms. She has historically been at 1000m and hasn't been able to have things completely her own way, so this week will be an interesting exercise for her.

In terms of her fitness she has been working into the prep well but will still derive good benefit from her first up assignment.

Thursday sees Bonita Bella, our first starter grace us with her presence on a raceday which is exciting for all her owners. It is a 1300m maiden at Hawkesbury and we have engaged Shaun Guymer to steer her around for her all important debut appearance. She will start from 9 in a 10 horse field so the expected pattern for her is that she will drift back and we would like to see her hitting the line late with some vigour.

At her latest trial the feedback was that she is a definite stayer so we expect her to be more competitive as the distances get longer but we can't wait for this Thursday all the same to see how she handles the raceday experience and how she copes under pressure when the whips are cracking.

Good luck to all owners this week in these two fillies.
