Sacred Falls Notches Up First Winner

Bred by Mr Garry Chittick from Waikato Stud, Shoshone (a 2-year-old filly), is out of Zabeel mare, Dee I Why, who is from one of the stalwart Waikato Stud families. Zabeel, as we know, is an almighty influence and in this instance under the O’Reilly sire line averages 76% winners and 5% stakes winners to runners.

For those of you who own Holy Water, who is currently "bucking her brands off" at Emeran Park, you will be pretty excited as Holy Water is by Sacred Falls out of a Savabeel (Zabeel) mare in Savasong.

The recent trial winner, Shoshone, lead all the way on a heavy track at Ellerslie today and showed a very good turn of foot to pull away and ease down on the line to hold off a field of 11 others to win comfortably and justify her favouritism.

Also, in the race, was two-time trial winner Vibrato. Now Vibrato, as previously mentioned in a recent news article, is by Sacred Falls out of Music who is by Pins. The O’Reilly/Pins nick is a well-tried one having produced 87 named foals for 75 runners; realising 74% winners and 6% stakes winners to runners; strong numbers.

Today Vibrato jumped from an outside gate and loomed out wide in the straight and finished 6th in a blanket finish for the minors. It looked like he didn't really handle the ground and jumping from an outside barrier didn't help his cause at all. He's one for the black book and I am very confident we will see more of this horse in the future.

We do have a share left in the our Sacred Falls ex Pinata filly whom is coming along extremely well so please contact me if you are interested in finding out more.

Todays race was all Shoshones though and we couldn't be happier with the result as Holy Water carries very similar common ancestry and the owners of Holy Water have been very patient and are due for some good luck.
