Raceday Preview: Enamour Taking On The Girls In Town

After a fantastic debut behind stakes placed Lanigera in a 900m Newcastle maiden last month, Enamour returns to the races at Canterbury Park on Wednesday against the 2Y0 fillies in a maiden over 1100m. The daughter of Charm Spirit had a nice trial at Randwick on July 12th to keep her ticking over between runs in preparation for the metropolitan event.

Tommy Berry who has trialled the filly twice has opted to stick with Enamour on Wednesday after giving her owners positive reports after her most recent trial.

"900m was always going to be a touch short for our filly, and unfortunately she met a stakes performed horse dropping back to Saturday provincial grade last start at Newcastle when running 2nd" commented trainer John O'Shea leading into Wednesday's race. "She's drawn favourably so I imagine she'll be up on the speed, either leading or just behind the leaders and should be there when the whips are cracking".

Enamour is currently second favourite in the race, behind the unraced Snowden trained Sebring filly Bound To Win- a two time trial winner this preparation who has drawn gate 8.

Purchased at last years Magic Millions June Yearling sale on the Gold Coast, Enamour was picked up for $85,000 from the Bhima Thoroughbreds Draft. O'Shea was very familiar with the pedigree having trained multiple stakes winner Kaepernick who is a half-brother to Enamour's dam Roadtoplatinum.

Best of luck to her owners at Canterbury on Wednesday!

The Lads That Look Like Their Dads

I inspected our Contributer ex Minnaleo colt and our Toronadoex ex Chabaud  colt. I was pleased to see how well they were doing.  Both colts really impressed me being such terrific physical types and what really stood out is how much they are looking like their sires.
