Opacity Lights The Way For Exciting Future

Progressive staying prospect Opacity (Ocean Park x Twilight Granita) made it back to back wins when stepping up to the mile at Gosford on Saturday, cementing himself as a stayer on the rise. The 3YO was having his third career start and found a rain affected track for the first time. The Soft 7 surface proved no issue for the gelding who settled 3 pairs back on the fence and traveled beautifully for visiting UK apprentice Cameron Noble. A gap appeared at the top of the straight and Opacity knuckled down to defeat his rivals by a convincing 2.95 length margin.

“We got the dream run up the inside and he quickened beautifully for me when asked. There’s definitely more to come from him in the future” commented Noble after the race.

Trainer John O’Shea will look to step him up in distance next start before a possible freshen up prior to aiming him for some nice 3YO staying races over the QLD Winter carnival.

Opacity was purchased from Book 1 of the 2018 Karaka sales for $70,000 from the Landsdowne Park Draft and is raced by Mrs C A Molyneux-Richards, Mr A H B Smith, Mr B R Kemp, Mr R Jones, Mr S M Ross, Mrs J S Willis, Mr J C Withers, Mr G Coy, Mr D Sutherland, B Johnson, Mr G B Lamont, Saudi Arabia Racing, J Hayward, J Gillies, Young Doihey Racing, Mr P Soulakellis, JackJ5 Racing.

Congratulations to all involved!
