In Demand; Only A Couple Shares Left In Popular Magic Millions Horses



Following a very successful open day at John O'Shea Racing on Sunday, we have just a couple of shares left in our hugely popular Mossman x Creative Chance Filly and Sizzling x Dabrowski Colt.

The filly, who represents fantastic value for just $4,500 for a 5% share (all expenses paid until November 30th) has just one 5% share remaining. The good bodied, strong walking filly caught the eye of Jason Abrahams and John O'Shea at first inspections at the Magic Millions June yearling sale- "I really liked this filly when I first inspected her prior to the sale, she possesses a purposeful walk and great attitude and both John and I thought $40,000 was an absolute bargain". "We've had good success with cheaper fillies, and a good example of that is Butterboom who we also purchased for $40,000 as a yearling before selling her at the MM broodmare sale for $360,000".

This filly's second dam is multiple stakes winner CREATIVE PLAN- a winner of 5 races including 2 a two year old. Creative Plan is a three-quarter sister to multiple Hong Kong Stakes winner JEUNE KING PRAWN (Danehill). Her sire Mossman has produced Group 1 winners including MOSSFUN (Golden Slipper), PLUCKY BELLE''E (Coolmore Classic) and sprint sensation BUFFERING''' who saluted in Group 1 company on seven occasions.

The Sizzling x Dabrowski Colt was a real stand out for John O'Shea this year. 30% of shares were snapped up on Sunday, leaving us with just 10% left to offer. This quality colt is by first season sire SIZZLING out of the Encosta De Lago mare DABROWSKI. Dabrowski is a half sister to New Zealand's leading three year old in 2011/12 ROCK 'N' POP (Fastnet Rock) who was a winner of the Group 1 NZ Two Thousand Guineas. This colt has no shortage of Group 1 pedigree to his page with his grand dam POPSY, a winner of the NZ DERBY and ARC Championships. She went on to produce 10 runners for 9 winners including ROCK 'N' POP and multiple stakes winner LILAKYN.

This colt is also from the family of black-type earners BEKS, STEELY DAN, PRINCE STANDAAN and BATTLE HAWK. Most will remember Sizzling (Snitzel) for his Group 1 win in the BRC T J Smith. Currently standing at Newgate Farm, Sizzling is the only Group 1 winning two year old at Stud by Snitzel.

His breaker Daniel Robinson branded him 'one of the most proffesional horses' he's broken in this season!

It's that time of the year again! We'll be hosting our 2018 yearling parade at John O'Shea Racing on Sunday, March 11th kicking off at 10am. The parade will feature our yearlings purchased from Magic Millions, Karaka, Inglis Classic and Premier sale as well as our racehorses in training with John at the time. 

Two 'Karakas' Join Team Champion/O'Shea

The last Day of the Karaka Book 1 sale proved the busiest for Champion Thoroughbreds and John O'Shea. Lot 553 was the first to join the team, a stunning filly by first season sire Sacred Falls out of the Savabeel mare Savasong.  

Knock Toff Repays Owners Patience With Gosford Win

Knock Toff's owners were rewarded for their persistence and patience after the four year old gelding provided them with a maiden win at Gosford on Thursday.
