Imposing Tavistock Colt Purchased At Karaka Sales

Champion Thoroughbreds in partnership with DGR Thoroughbreds & John O'Shea were thrilled to walk away with Lot 104 from this week's Karaka Sales. The imposing son of the ill-fated Tavistock was purchased for $150,000 from the Westbury Stud Draft. He's the fourth foal out of winning Zabeel mare Miss La Frenz who has had 3 foals to race- all winners.

The New Zealand breeding industry was rocked by the news last month of the passing of Cambridge Stud's Champion stallion Tavistock- sire of Werther, Tarzino, Tavago, Volkstok'n'barrell etc. Miss La Frenz is a daughter of Group 3 winner and Group 1 placed Moonflute (Danehill). Also featuring in the pedigree is black-type performers Absolut Glam, Jazz Song and Miss Gunpowder.

"This colt is bred to stay and looks the ultimate cups type" commented Champion Director Jason Abrahams. "We loved him early on during initial inspections and are thrilled to be partnering with Duncan Ramage in racing him."
