Fantastic Turnout At O'Shea Racing Open Day


The sun was shining, the coffee was brewing and the brownies were warm- the perfect recipe to a successful open day. With close to 100 people walking through the gates for Sunday's Open Day at O'Shea Racing, many shares were snapped up in our impressive line up of babies.

Joining the two year olds were some older Champion favourites including our stable star and war horse Target In Sight along with the black flash Kuro. Attendees of the Open day were free to roam the stables and say hello to their four legged friends, giving ample cuddles and pats to which all the horses were more than obliging. John and Jason discussed each individual horse which was paraded before the crowd, discussing their thoughts and aspirations for the preparation ahead.

Also attending the day was our breaker extraordinaire Daniel Robinson who gave some insightful thoughts on the young horses that he had broke in this year along with Shannon Betts (aka mum) from Emeran Park who chatted about some of the horses who recently returned from spelling at the farm.

There was a fantastic team vibe on Sunday and the Open day was well received by all of those who attended. A special thanks must be extended to the hardworking team behind the scenes who ensured the day ran seamlessly. This includes John's foreman Matt Tremble and the handlers on the day- Helen, Sophie and Alicia.

SAVE THE DATE: 2018 Yearling Parade

It's that time of the year again! We'll be hosting our 2018 yearling parade at John O'Shea Racing on Sunday, March 11th kicking off at 10am. The parade will feature our yearlings purchased from Magic Millions, Karaka, Inglis Classic and Premier sale as well as our racehorses in training with John at the time. 

Two 'Karakas' Join Team Champion/O'Shea

The last Day of the Karaka Book 1 sale proved the busiest for Champion Thoroughbreds and John O'Shea. Lot 553 was the first to join the team, a stunning filly by first season sire Sacred Falls out of the Savabeel mare Savasong.  

Knock Toff Repays Owners Patience With Gosford Win

Knock Toff's owners were rewarded for their persistence and patience after the four year old gelding provided them with a maiden win at Gosford on Thursday. The son of Toorak Toff has been plagued with injuries and set backs since he was a two year old but his ability shone through with a convincing performance over 1100m
