Double Showing At Ipswich On Wednesday


The team will have two representatives at Wednesday's Ipswich meeting in Queensland for the Bryan & Daniel Guy training partnership.

Knock Toff (Toorak Toff x Shoptalk) is likely to kick off proceedings in the fifth race of the day which is a BM65 over 1000m- he is also nominated for a 1200m event however the shorter trip looks more suited. He has drawn nicely in barrier 5 from the field of 11 runners and has the blinkers off after over-doing it last start at the Gold Coast. He gets in nicely with the 2kg claim from in-form apprentice Clayton Gallagher and will look to take a positive position. It is a very open race with multiple chances including the Tony Gollan trained Justify who maps nicely from barrier 2 and was narrowly beaten last start over 900m.

Two races later, 3YO filly Creative Moss (Mossman x Creative Chance) will line up in the Maiden Handicap over 1350m. Team Guy were hoping to step her up in distance but with several meeting called off in the past week and little options, she will remain at the same trip as last time where she finished third at the same track. She won't get all the favours from barrier 17, however with a long run to the first turn she should be able to settle where she's comfortable and do her best work late. Matthew McGillvray will do the steering and we're hopeful of another top 3 finish in what looks another wide open maiden with numbers 2- Consular & 7- Holbrook presenting as the main dangers.

The track is currently rated a Heavy 10 with a warm and sunny forecast leading into Wednesday.

We've struck on the first day of the Inglis Premier Sale with the purchase of Lot 103, a strong Toronado colt, out of Group 3 winner and Tasmanian Oaks winner, Chabaud (Lookin At Lucky). Purchased for $80,000 from the Fernrigg Farm Draft, the colt was a real value purchase for John O'Shea

This season's tipping comp promises to be bigger and better than ever! The competition will kick off on Sunday, March 9th for Randwick Guineas Day and Newmarket Handicap Day at Flemington.
