Creative Moss Breaks Maiden At Home Track

Creative Moss headed to Aquis Park at the Gold Coast Turf Club today looking to break her run of minor placing’s and find the elusive winners stall and was able to do so in taking out the Cordner Tax Advisory Fillies and Mares Maiden Plate over 1400 metres. The Champion Thoroughbred owned daughter of Mossman was able to settle just off the speed in the one out one back position before jockey Daniel Griffin made a race winning move approaching the home turn asking the filly for her effort and she responded by hitting the front at the 300 metre mark and went on to score by a margin of one length being eased down.

Winning Co trainer Bryan Guy was a relieved man after the event saying that he was very confident going into today’s race believing that only bad luck would beat the filly “I am glad she got the money she deserved it, she has been racing so well but she has run into one or two that have been better then her and today it really looked like her race on paper and Dan rode her perfect, he was very confident on her last run and he rode her like she was the best horse in the race and all went to the pre race plan. Also it’s great to win a race for Champion Thoroughbreds and the group of owners.”

Creative Moss was ridden today by jockey Daniel Griffin who was having his second ride on the filly after running second on her at her most recent start and he explained after the race that he wasn’t going to go home without her winning today’s event “I thought she was close to a good thing given her last start effort, she was overdue for the win and all we needed was things to go our way and it worked out perfectly. She was still a little green going to the line so she will benefit with the confidence of that win.”

Creative Moss is owned by a big group of owners which race under the Champion Thoroughbreds banner and the filly was sent north after originally being trained by Sydney based trainer John O’Shea and Co Trainer Daniel Guy thanked Jason Abrahams of Champion Thoroughbreds and her former trainer John O’Shea “Both Dad and I are grateful for the support that Champion Thoroughbreds have given our stable in recent times and I also want to say thanks to John O’Shea because when the filly was sent north she was sent in good order and John told Dad that she would be well suited to this area and he was right, hopefully that’s the first of many wins for her.”

The Lads That Look Like Their Dads

I inspected our Contributer ex Minnaleo colt and our Toronadoex ex Chabaud  colt. I was pleased to see how well they were doing.  Both colts really impressed me being such terrific physical types and what really stood out is how much they are looking like their sires.
